Well I’m still trying to figure that out, but I do know I just painted the two for a very special and private gathering in my studio.
My friend the AMAZING photographer Cesar Altamirano wanted to do something special for his wife’s b day and asked if I would do a performance of her two favorite things: Hello Kitty and Lady Gaga. For Cesar, yes.
This past weekend Cesar, his wife Annie, and a few of her closest friends stopped by to watch me create. There are some pics here but check out Cesars Flickr for a lot more.
(P.S. No I do not normally give private performances at my studio. Sorry)
Special thanks to OMGItsSteveSiu for posting this video on YouTube. This is the first painting I did for ISA NY at Webster Hall. This painting took about 3.5 minutes to do. I did about 3 paintings total in my 15 min slot. This one has been a popular one lately. Still working on it to make it better each time though. Thanks again to everyone who came out to ISA NY!
One of the joys of traveling is having the opportunity to see a familiar face hundreds, or even thousands of miles from home. This trip to Boston I had the chance to hook up with my dad who was also in the area on business. I had a great time hanging with him.
I introduce to you part 1 of the “Color From The Sky Collection”.
The past few years I have found myself flying all over the world and at most times I always feel like I’m on a plane 30,000 feet in the sky. I’ve spent most of that time catching up on sleep, but also creating.
I started most of these images on planes and later finished them in hotel rooms, airports, or back home. So most of these started out as “Color From The Sky”. Most of you know me as the “performance painter” on stage or you’ve seen my posters online or in stores. This is just another side to me as an artist. The creativity never stops. I definitely have some more coming, but let me know what you think about the first set from the series.
We filmed this not too long ago at my studio in the Sacramento area and it was so much fun. This was a perfect fit because I have an on the go lifestyle and music inspires me each step of the way. So DICE helps me stay connected to that inspiration. This also gives you a little insight into what it takes to go from Studio to Stage. Big shout out to Joseph One too for appearing in this clip!
Special thanks to the guys at Grown Ass Kids for covering the premier of my documentary Walking Dreams! Here are a couple of vids form their blog! Be sure to check out and stay up on Grown Ass Kids(grownasskids.com)!
As most of you know by now, when these photos were taken, my wife Joy was admitted to the hospital being cared for and it may give you a little more insight into what was going on behind the scenes that night. I’m still here at the hospital but wanted to also send this recap out about the event because it was such a success!

These amazing photos from photographer Cesar Altamirano shows you either WHAT YOU SAW OR WHAT YOU MISSED at The Crest Theatre last Thursday night! He has a TON more including some of the actual paintings from the show. For now I wanted to share with you these images captured from the night and thank everyone from the Sacramento Film & Music Festival, Director Chad Ross and his team, Joseph One, Russell Boucher, Dan Juris, Eric Templo, Laurie Pederson, Travis Wolfe, John Eaton, David Sobon, Sherwin Williams Paints, and countless others to thank for the success of our first premier for Walking Dreams!
I’m writing you from the hospital room we’ve been in since Thursday last week and I’m just trying to fight back the tears. Before I go into detail about what is going on I have to first thank God for even blessing us with the opportunity to have a child on the way, and our family, friends, and even my fans you have all been so supportive. Also, please keep in mind I will not be using all of the correct medical terminology and we are in AMAZING hands here at the hospital. I’ll let them worry about the lingo.
The Story:
On Thursday (July 29th) afternoon during one of Joy’s pre-natal appointments they noticed our baby had an extremely high heart rate, which was also causing fluids to develop in places it should not. They immediately rushed Joy to another hospital that was equipped to deal with this serious situation. It’s serious because Joy is about 30 weeks pregnant and to save the baby at one point they were going to have to deliver early, which is now not the case. This was all going on as I was getting ready to load in for the Walking Dreams event in Sacramento.
These amazing people that we call doctors and nurses have been saving our baby’s life. Joy has been on 24 hour monitoring as they give her medications to help our baby, and like I said we’ve been at the hospital this whole time. The good news is, they have been able to get the baby’s heart rate down for longer periods of time, and it’s been high for shorter amounts of time. The bad news is it’s taking a toll on Joy, but she is seriously being so strong right now, and she is such a resilient person.
Like I said, thank you ALL for your prayers. The chances of us losing are baby are still there, but less than when we arrived. This is not easy to talk about. Joy and I are normally pretty private about situations like this but I know we can use as many people going to God and asking him to intervene.
For those of you who were at the Walking Dreams premier I want to thank you for sharing that special night with myself and my whole crew. It was really hard for me to be there and perform. All I could think about was Joy and our little one. Your energy and love helped me get through it and reminded me that Walking Dreams is the journey, this is it. I had to take off as soon as I could after the event and have been by Joy’s side since.
I just want to leave you all with this. We are in the best hands here at the hospital, our family and friends are checking in constantly, and Joy is fighting so hard and I know we will get through this. When it’s all done the only thing we’ll have to say is PRAISE GOD!
I just want to thank everyone for their support for this event so far! The response has been amazing! Now it’s time to just make it happen. See you tonight Sacramento!!!
