Yesterday I gave a keynote presentation for Bank of America’s Neighborhood Excellence Awards at Sacramento State University. The awards honored community leaders, students, business owners, and non profit organizations who have had a significant impact in their region.
Even though I gave a keynote presentation about my story and journey, I was inspired by the stories I heard of everyday people who took it upon themselves to “become the change in the world they want to see”.
Serving your community does not need to look one specific way. In fact what I learned is we can all use our platforms and passions as a vehicle to serve our communities.
I wish you could have been there with me to hear these stories, but I think what would be even better is if you became one of them.
