Whether you're new to collecting or looking to expand your knowledge, this guide will help you navigate the exciting world of collecting art and collectibles.

Getting Started

Collecting can be both rewarding and educational. Here are some key principles to keep in mind:

  • Start with what you love - Passion is the foundation of any great collection. This would be the perfect opportunity to request a Garibaldi custom painting.
  • Research thoroughly - Understanding the history, artists, and market helps you make informed decisions. Reaching out to our team to ensure confidence in your decision helps tremendously.
  • Set a budget - Determine what you can comfortably spend and stick to it. You can build and invest into your gallery anytime.
  • Buy quality over quantity - It's better to have fewer high-quality pieces than many mediocre ones. For any original work, we will always include the signed certificate of authenticity to ensure the proper documentation is on file for your valuable and memorable investment.

What to Look For

When evaluating potential additions to your collection:

  • Authenticity and provenance
  • Condition and preservation
  • Rarity and significance

  • Personal connection to the work

Care and Preservation

Proper storage, handling, and display are crucial for maintaining your collection's value and longevity. If you are not ready to frame or stretch when you receive your work from Garibaldis gallery, keeping it rolled in the protective tube it was received in is highly encourages. laying it horizontal underneath a bed in a temperature controlled room or in a closet is a great place to store it. Consider adding it to your home insurance which we can provide a letter of COA/cost if needed.

Happy collecting!
